Sebenarnya mekanisme COIN itu totally different dari Labyrinth sih... Labyrinth lebih deket ke TS. Dulu pernah ikut playtest Distant Plain, di COIN seingetku tidak ada cardplay.. card cuma dipakai untuk menentukan urutan player dan event jika playernya menginginkan.

Masang influence it bisa "up to operations value" dari kartu. Jadi kalau mau sih bisa kurang (tapi rugi).
Trus naruh influence kudu adjacent kepada atau berada di negara dimana sudah punya influence marker (atau home country US / USSR).

Test case: Umpama di peta sama sekali nggak ada influence marker, berarti kudu mulai dari USSR. Misalkan taruh 5 ops buat influence..naruhnya bebas asalkan adjacent ke influence marker/homeland atau sudah punya influence. Taruh 1 influence di Poland, 1 di E Germany, 1 lagi di E Germany, 1 di W Germany, 1 di France bisa (karena dalam contoh ini nggak ada negara yg dicontrol oleh US). Misalkan naruh influence ke negara yg di-control US, bayarnya 2 ops per influence. Dan karena pengecekan control dilakukan seketika naruh influence, selama turn kita naruh influence, negara yg tadinya bayar 2 ops per influence bisa balik ke 1 ops per influence dalam cardplay yg sama.

Pertanyaan 2 : Yup realignment itu 1 per ops.

Ohh jadi satu negara boleh naro lebih dari 1 influence toh. Jadi kalo gue naro semua influence di Poland boleh kan?

Gue tadi main maksimal 1 negara 1 influence.

Trus maksudnya yang 2 ops per influence itu cuman kalo negaranya di control kan? yang warnanya dark, bukan yg white?
Jadi kalo misalnya di E. Germany ada 2 US influence. Gue naro 1 USSR influence disitu tetep butuh 1 ops doank donk ya, ga 2. Karena tadi gue maennya begini.

Gile ni game seru banget gue tadi nyoba. Walaupun gue sebagai US kalah jauh bgt ama USSR karena berbagai hal dan geregetan juga karena awalnya gue nyaris menang lewat Europe domination. Kurang 1 influence lagi gara2 kena -1 ops.

Ni game thematic abis padahal bukan ameritrash ya? konten thematic-nya itu kata gue malah ngelebihin sebagian besar game ameritrash lho. Tiap action itu theme-nya bener2 makes sense dan kayak simulasi cold war, bener2 perang pengaruh dan proxy-war.

Maeninnya itu kayak apa ya.. Risk tapi kita kayak bikin alternate history sendiri dan ngga tergantung luck banget. Ada sih lucknya kayak kalo ngeroll pas realignment, coup (gagal sekali), Space Track (gagal ampe 5 kali) tapi tetep butuh mikir ga kayak Risk.

Tadi Asia bener2 dikuasain USSR, indonesia di coup influence-nya sampe 5. Soekarno komunisnya nyaingin Kim Jong Il. Cuba di coup jadi antek2 US.. kasihan kang Fidel Castro. lol

top bener deh gamenya. pantes dapet rank 1 di bgg.

additional question: gue baca di rulebook ada contoh gameplay yg diambil dari final turnamen TS koq yang US dapet 5 influence bonus ya pas setup? emangnya USSR imba ya?

influence terserah mau taro dimana, asal di legal available spot (bukan chain influence, misal taro di indonesia, terus ke vietnam)

Di early edition, USSR itu kuat banget. winning chance nya s.d. 55% kalo gak salah. Makanya ada tournament variant dimana early draft dapet tambahan influence.

Di new edition, sudah ada beberapa card modification untuk favour US.

Oops sorry .. betul nggak boleh chain. Harus adjacent di awal action round. Ini salah satu misplay saya saat pertama2 main TS.

Kuncinya jd US itu sabar. Dihajar di depan gpp.. secara historical mmg komunisme itu sangat menarik di era pasca kolonial. Sabar dan bertahan aja, nanti nasib berubah di mid war dan berbalik total di late war.

Sebenarnya bukan imbalance ya, cuma temporally asymmetric aja. Saya main sebagai US, 80% menang. Malah kalau main USSR lebih banyak kalah karena kurang aggressive hehe.
