Sandbox maksdunya tiap orang punya kapal kosong sendiri2.. terus terserah lo mo ngapain.. kayak the sims/mass effect..

lo terserah mau ngapain, pick up deliver sepanjang game bisa, battle sepanjang game bisa.. cari mission bisa.. explore lalu mining bisa..

Actually, Xia approach different side dibanding MoV (kaya Civ dan CoC). MoV lebih mikirin route dan logistics, game utamanya lebih ke arah pick-up and deliver. Sedang Xia lebih luas jenis actionnya, lebih RPG, upgrade2nya lebih "colorful", tapi secara logistics lebih kurang, karena harga semua cargo sama, dan upgrade pesawat bisa dibeli di planet manapun, sedang di MoV untuk mencari upgrade tertentu harus mendarat di planet tertentu.

Selain itu, MoV adalah VP game (yang mana VPnya adalah duit total setelah 30 round), sedang Xia itu race game (siapa yang duluan mencapai VP jumlah tertentu). So that's something to consider lebih suka yg mana (personally aku lebih suka yg variable game round kaya Xia gini).

Jadi beda, dan rasanya pantes sih kalo dikoleksi keduanya (kalo punya uitnya)

Cuman disini luck swingnya mungkin lebih mengkhawatirkan dari MoV. Coba lihat ini

itu mission cards. Aku rasa anatomynya cukup jelas tanpa melihat rulebook sekalipun. Coba baca yg Smuggler. Intinya, roll d20 untuk tahu sukses ato ngga. Aku ulangi, roll d20 untuk tahu sukses ato ngga. Sekali lagi, ROLL d20 UNTUK TAHU SUKSES ATO NGGA. Dengan probability 40% chance success lagi!!!. Dan selama aku baca rulebook (dan beberapa card2 lainnya), ngga ada satupun cara untuk improve oddsnya.

Untuk combat juga sama, ada missile dengan damage tergantung dari d12. Berarti sekali tembak, chance untuk damagenya antara 1 dmg hingga 12dmg!!! Yaa ga taw juga sih mendingan gini atau hit/miss kaya eclipse/citow. Tp rasanya swingnya jauh banget.

Soooooo dunno. Kalo dibawah $50 sih pengen sikat ($60 aja masih maw). Tapi ini $105 sih......

tapi kalo liat componentnya (bukan gameplay), itu lumayan mot (kayaknya lo gak terlalu pentingin kompnen ya mot).. Thick map board, 15 ship miniatures pre painted. Lalu ada NPC juga, jadi emang bener2 sandbox + RPG

Tapi emang luck swingnya berasa.. shield pake d8, absorb 1-8 dice..

Komponen emang juga sedikit dilihat sih (makanya masih on the fence juga, ga langsung tolak), but not the most deciding factor, karena kalo gameplaynya sekelas splotter spellen sih wajar dan pantas. Yng ini kan belum terbukti, tapi so far yg aku lihat cukup solid.

Tinggal liat nanti maennya cukup balance ngga dengan swing begitu. Aku ngga perlu perfectly balanced, as long as kelihatan antara veteran dan newbie kemenangannya lebih byk veterannya.

harusnya jenis dadu ga jadi masalah donk kalo yang diliat dari probabilitasnya. 40% di d20 ama di d10 kan artinya sama. apalagi kalo katanya probability-nya ga bisa di modifikasi. Cuman aneh aja sih, klo premisenya bisa upgrade2 segala macem tapi ga ada satupun cara buat modifikasi chance. itu upgrade buat apaan aja?

mungkin alasan kenapa yg dipake d20 (yang menurut gue juga kegedean) itu karena mereka ga mau ada runaway leader kali.. jadi yg beruntung di awal2 karena roll bagus dan dapet upgrade bagus2 perbedaan probabilitas ama yang blom upgrade ga terlalu parah.

Kalo soal d8 buat shield, d12 buat attack... buat apaan ya gede2? uda kayak full-fledged RPG aja. Kayaknya designernya cuman pengen make dadu-dadu unik aja deh biar keliatan keren.

Gamenya juga kayaknya bakal jadi dice roll fest. dan setuju gue, bener2 banyak luck

Buat dapetin boni aja harus ngeroll dulu.. seems like unnecessary complexity

Kalo diliat stat NPC-nya sepertinya disesuaikan dengan dadu. So.. it takes at least 2 attack to kill the weakest NPC.

Tapi gw masih dalam opini kalo nomer2 gede itu cuman fluff.
